What goes into a bouquet?

Starting in February, the Clark basement becomes a grow room for many plants that need the head start in our short growing season. April and May are usually harvesting spring bulbs and arranging cheery bouquets. The month of May is planting season! June - September is harvesting, fertilizing, maintaining the garden beds and running the roadside stand. There is a lot that goes into flower farming behind the scenes, but it’s an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Some of the flowers and fillers we use are; zinnias, sunflowers, china asters, dahlias, roses, daisies, calendula, strawflowers, celosia, amaranth, sage, basil, stock, statice, gladiolus, daffodils, tulips, yarrow, snapdragons, mint, foxglove, cosmos, cress, California poppies, black eyed Susans, and feverfew.
